It has been argued, and still is argued in the medical world - that preventative treatment is by far the best option for ensuring that medical conditions do not get out of hand. When it comes to toothache, prevention can be just as effective, if not more effective, then treating the symptoms when they arise.

Despite the efforts of scientists worldwide, the exact reasons why toothache sprouts its head at certain times is still a mystery. However, we do know a few things about it.

First of all, we know that it has everything to do with the root of the tooth. This gives us a clue as to what the triggers of toothache might be. Anything which causes a change in the shape of the tooth can be considered a trigger. Just as metal can expand and contract in size when exposed to different temperatures, the teeth hold the same function. Therefore, if you eat an ice cream, you may find that this triggers toothache. Alternatively, if you drink a hot cup of tea, you may find that this brings on the pain.

Therefore, it makes sense that to prevent toothache from occurring, you should avoid these types of triggers. This is by far, the easiest way to ensure that toothache does not strike at any time.
